I did several works at this time with the idea of a black river defined by a string of Moop shapes on each bank We call this one "The Big Spiral." Among the few legible Moop script words in it that I can still read I see "Hayden's Creation," and I think of that as an alternate title. I was listening to that music at some time while making this work. It might seem that I was inspired by the music or its title "Creation" to express order swirling out of chaos. But I had just decided, using my then black river Moop style, to produce a big eccentric spiral, its curves adjusting to the canvas rectangle.
